Yes it is possible. You should become aware of Cre Loaded's format first, like how they organize their files. This system is based on oscommerce, but some files have been altered and added to make it more proprietary and functional for all of the add-ons they have used.

I have used PO, COD, RSS contributions. It just takes a lot of time if you are mid-level to newbie like myself.

When I change a file, I make a duplicate of the original and I end the file in -O, like index.php becomes index-O.php.
This is also good for patches made available by Cre Loaded. I have record of the files I have changed.
