Has any one made / found one of these?
Why doesnt cre recognize this standards?

nested tables? cummon cre... you know thats bs. $300 worth of software thats requires reverse engineering to template?

Ive worked with some VERY talented members of the cre team (luckily) This is a day project... put someone on it, anrelease in 6.4.2 patch.

Its the responsible thing to do.
Joomla / Drupal / Wordpress / PHPBB all have a readily avail CSS based template... (for free!)

other than the same template crap from 6.2...6.4 is Way better! but.. fix the template crap please.

Done lots of times

the problem-
it needs to be backwards compatible in order to allow both table based 3rd party and pure css templates..
otherwise the upgrade would break most sites that have a table base(all the big template providers code in table for osc/forks)

there are still a few files/logic outside the template that use templates.. but a well designed pure css structure will work without having to edit too many of those files

And as long as cre is attached to the osc base.. it will be that way.. o until they start using osc3 base.. or a large rewrite to work with both tables and non

the outdated code shouldnt be stood up for... every one knows its wrong. well.. every one that has the skillset to template. Jason... when your clients ask you to complete template related tasks...do you write them as hard coded html? wooof... i left that behind 5+ years ago. infact 3 years ago, i had this same convo with all of the legends... it was a priority. now its "osc 3.0 problem" lol i should necro the old posts 2007ish on the exact same topics.

cre should have a "stock" template.

That template should be pure CSS, just like every other prominent software.

cres unwillingness to fix it, shows they are in algos pocket.

This isnt a trend... its evolution.

Jason... ive respected you for years, you have helped me... and i hope i have helped you.... Im sory for the tone... im pretty pissed im still farting around with another cre cart that takes weeks to template. i took a break from cre... and came back, only to find the same problems.

It only takes about 30 minutes to build your main_page.tpl.php into valid table-less html

You will still have all the content files (which will have no issues as they start/stop with valid html) and your infobox structure to deal with.. but can easily be done

I have already covered the issue.. there is no upgrade path for those who have spent $ on custom templates and/or heavily customized their 6.15/6.2x/6.3x/6.4x templates.. and making teh core files backwards compatible is not an option (files outside the template folder that use html logic)

And you are correct.. until creloaded does a large change in the base code.. making it a lot less based on osc.. which means osc modules will no longer be an easy port.. then you will have to create your own custom template.. with no tables.. perfect CSS that displays the same in all browsers.. etc etc etc

And I couldn't tell you how long it will be before we see a rebuild that will require new templates/addons released from cre loaded.. they tend to favor an easy upgrade path

One could (and have) write a condition set of rules.. if template = css then use this content folder, else use the standard ats structure.. this would be the simplest of methods.. but nobody at cre loaded seems to understand html well enough to release this add-on/modification

that made me chuckle.

I guess you never noticed the css and xhtml code valid logos on the bottom. :)

its been awhile since a patch.. would be nice if they start working on trying to make this cart stand up to some of the other carts out there.
