My hosting company has told me that they don't set allow_url_fopen to ON because of security issues. Will CRE loaded work without it?

They said that I could use cURL but I have not got a clue how I make it work with CRE Loaded?

Hi Andy,

What hosting company are you with? I've hosted CRE for my clients succesfully in the following 3 hosts. www.1and1.com both shared and managed servers (requires a modifying info.php) and Godaddy, shared hosting.

How did you get it to work with 1and1? I am really struggling to get cre to recognise the fact that I have a local php file - but phpinfo does recognise it.
