In my humble opinion, the Header Tags menu is poorly documented and organized. This stems from the fact that header tags can be overwritten by different controls. For example, default title tags get overwritten by whatever is entered in Configuration > My Store > Store Name. Talk about confusing. The tag override controls in Header Tags >Text Control should be integrated with the Page Control menu to reduce confusion, while changing the name of Text Control to Default Control. Only two of the three Header Tags menus are useful:

Header Tags > Page Control
Header Tags > Text Control

Header Tags > Fill Tags simply doesn't work, or at least doesn't do what you expect from its limited description.

I have re-written the brief descriptions in Page Control and Text Control to include the following, much clearer detail:

Header Tags > Page Control - This page allows custom header tags (title, description, and keywords) to be entered in specific pages. Note: entries here will override any default header tags entered from Text Control. You may also delete custom header tags entered from here, which will return the specified page to its default headers (if any). Specific product page headers are entered from Catalog > Categories/Products.

Header Tags > Text Control - This page mainly controls the default header tag information (title, description, and keywords). It also allows tag override control for specific pages (similar to Page Control). Note: the default title field may be overridden in Configuration > My Store > Store Name, but the default description and keyword fields will remain (if any). Specific product page headers are entered from Catalog > Categories/Products. Entries there will override default headers.

===================

Additionally, there are egregious misspellings in the Data Manager > Data Help menu. This doesn't reflect well on a product marketed as "professional".

Several questions about getting standard uncustomized installations to display meta information correctly have sprung up. These have not always attracted concise complete descriptions of fixes.

Meta information is 'quite' important. I'd expect this to be a top priority patch for the CRE Loaded team - sort it out, make it more intuitive, get rid of the vestigial dangly bits, tighten it up and loose the jargon.

Any spotted issues should be added to Creforge bug tracker as I believe the devs are working on getting all bugs sorted in patch 12 so if you have any issues put it up there.

I know this is an old thread, but I am trying to find the right place to edit the header text for index.php. It currently says Home: You are here.

For SEO I don't seem to have optimized this part of the page.

Anyway, this could be a newbie question, but I'd appreciate help.

Thanks,

Chris
