I have a problem with default language the problem is:

i have the english as default language and when I into mycompany.com/index.php and the language as default is the spanish.

other problem is that when Im in the language english and I make a Search this Send me a the search Results in spanish also happend when I make an Advansed Search .

Well I hope that you can help me .

A bit of clarification is needed here on this issue, as it is not a bug, rather it works as designed.
When you change the Localizations>Languages in admin, it will affect the admin side right away. However on the catalog side the default operation of the cart is to use the language setting of your local browser. So for instance, if your using IE and its set to use English by default that is what the catalog side of the cart will display.
The way you can work around this is to activate your languages infobox for cart side, then when your customers come to the cart they can select the language they wish to use.
Please note, that the Defines for languages other than English may not be completely translated and for defines that are not, you will need to got to your admin>tools>language editor and translate the defines.
