I see a lot of growth in the mobile web browsing market and want to see what I can do to make my CRE Loaded website become optimized for these sites. I have an iPhone and know a lot of websites have a mobile version that automatically comes up and sometimes has an option to use the standard version.
Does anyone know how I would go about having my template (which actually was purchased from AlgoZone) modified to be iPhone optimized?
Or is there a place I can buy a iPhone or mobile optimized template?
Also, I know there are tablet devices around the corner and also a lot of other smartphones such as Blackberry and Android. Would it be possible to have a mobile template that would work on all of these or would I have to be device specific such as getting a iphone template, android template, etc?

Mark,

AlgoZone actually have some iphone templates, check it out at http://www.algozone.com/iphone-templates.php

I know I want my store optimised for mobile too and think this topic may just tempt me to contact them and see what price they give for taking the template I purchased from them for my CRE Web Store and turning it in to a mobile version.

If nothing else, it will be interesting to see what price they come back with.

However I don't just want "iphone customers" to get the use from a future mobile version of my store, I'd prefer an all out "cross mobile compatible" version of my web store template but will still contact them.

Maybe you should do the same, see what they come back with.

Good suggestion. I bought my template from them so will see if they can make a mobile version of it. I also want it to work with all mobile platforms. I hear about the tablets coming this year and it's a market i want to be ready for.

I am piling on to this thread as I too am interested in a cross-platform mobile version of our CRE site. More than iPhone would be best. Not sure of the benefit yet...But, I can see it coming. Especially if you are in competition with the "Brick N Mortars", a customer can check your price to the local stores and decide to buy online instead :-).

I forgot all about this topic, as I've been really busy with other stuff but recall getting a reply to my Q to AlgoZone regarding my stores template and below is the communication to date.

Quote:
Hi,

I noticed that you have some iphone templates at http://www.algozone.com/iphone-templates.php and I am looking in to the feasibility of getting my web store optimised for mobile too.

What price can you quote me for taking the template I purchased from you for my CRE Web Store #OS03C20010 and turning it in to a mobile version.

However Ideally I don't just want "iphone customers" to get the use from a future mobile version of my store, I'd prefer an all out "cross mobile compatible" version of my web store template.

Therefore, can you clarify for me as soon as possible if the above is something that AlgoZone can carry out and if so, what price please?

Thank you for choosing AlgoZone.com

We can create Iphone optimized template for you. This will cost about $300. The concern is cover other mobile phones. Many devices are different.

If you specify mobile devices, we can try to check that for you.

If you have any questions please let us know.

My problem here is trying to find the right current user figures / demographics for my stores users of what mobile and platform there phone uses. Maybe the only way to find out is a direct Newsletter with a Poll section in it or something like that.

I mean how many mobiles can connect now to the internet with full mobile browsers etc, so to name them for AlgoZone is going to be a minefield... which to leave out and for what reasoning's do we have a "not list" etc?

Thoughts on this those who are also interested in this side of CRE things?

I wonder if you can just say something like:
- iPhone
- WIndows Mobile Phones
- Blackberry Phones
- Google Phones
- Palm Phones
- Symbian Phones

That would cover most of the phones out there. I know there are others but I think these are the most out there today.

Hello,

I am actually writing this post from my Android evo 4g with the Android system. I to am very interested in this functionality and have recently been doing a lot of Wordpress work and there is a huge movement to make the blogs mobile... the templates that are available are so beautiful in they just "work"!

The one I use is by carrington and automatically supports all mobile browsers.

Wake up algozone!!!!

Anyone make any progress on this issue?

Cheers

Nothing on the CRE Loaded front. But, Magento has a Mobile version, it is expensive (monthly or annual payment deal).
