Can anyone tell me how to add or remove the buttons, for instance, home, log in, new products, specials, etc.

look in templates/your template name/header.php
if you are not sure what you are looking at, paste that files contents here.. or attach it

your using the algozone template named /templates/OS06E8497TM/ correct?

look for this type of code
