Hi there. It would be great if somebody from the developer's can answer this.
I am asking this question because as I've seen there's no movement at all since the 6.4.1 release back in December 2009.
And the software has plenty of bugs that for 8 months to don't have any release or bug fixing.

On the other hand there is no information at all about future releases.
Any developing work is going out? If so what kind of development is going out, what is the direction of the software, what can be expected and approximately when? Most serious software has a road map at least for the upcoming 2-3 releases.
There is no such thing at CRE. From a possible client perspective is a little bit scaring. Why would somebody pay for an (apparently) dead software, when there are hundreds of actively developed shopping cart out there in the market?

6.4.2 patch will hopefully be out by the end of 2010. That is our goal.

Thank you.

one of the major problems is the lack of documentation of the features. Affiliate module for example. No documentation; it crashes the store; the support chat blows you off by saying "it is complex with no documentation, you just have to experiment with it"; how is that for support of a major piece of software?

yea there are less and less people on this forum ever day. Usta be really active. I do wish they would be more prompt on patches. Think thats part of why you dont' see people on here. Getting close to a year since the last one. You can sign up for there cre forge account so you can see there dev. I did this so i can watch for fixes to the software ;) Because the patches are so far out.

I have not seen them activity working on the software in some time. Looks like there is quite afew less people on staff than there usta be.

I would settle for decent documentation beside Kerry Watson's books. I own them all and they are high level...helpful in places...but not enough. Anyone know of any other books?

There is quite a bit of info in their Documents area for tackling menus: http://www.creloaded.com/Support-Docume ... pages.html
There is also a lot of info in this forum and the osC forums (plus forks like oscMax and zencart too) - unfortunately the 'search' on the forum is budget.

I think the nature of Cre sorta prevents a definitive book from being written, as the messy codebase and templating system seems to get altered in every release (eg box classes appeared from 6.4->6.4.1), making eg Kerry Watson's book a bit outta date in some areas. Cre is a template system, so radically departs from the base osC idea - however osC books eg Monika Mathe's Cookbook - is useful if you're attempting mods to your own store. Yerve gotta remember however that when the codebase does get patched/updated, all yer previous mods will probably get overwritten (and with new libraries previous mods will probably break - eg php6 is a-comin and any mods needing register_globals on will need to be tweaked.)

Finally there are several 'cre fixers' and developers that actively bid on your projects in the Freelance Market and also can be found in the Developers Center (and on the forums here, wink wink!) So I think there are answers to your questions, it's more a question of 'how much time and/or $' do you want to put towards answering them.
Simon

I have not been on the forums lately because everything was working just fine. perhaps there are not so many people because of this. I have a small email problem but i am sure its a problem I created. I think for the money, this is still a very viable product. I wish the support was more flexible. I have a simple problem but through the forums its taking weeks to get a fix..
