I'm working on a new template for a customer and I'm working on making the store section match a Joomla template.

Anyhow, does anyone have a Pure CSS version of the boxes.tpl.hphp file?
That file is a morass of html tables code that's just horrid. I'd much rather prefer a pure CSS version so I can manage the look from the stylesheet.

Please help!

Thanks

I built one for oscommerce and oscmax and I'm working on creloaded this week. I'll post what I come up with.

Any luck with this, I'm running into the same problem.

A lot of the code on the CRE Loaded software does seem rather bloated with extraneous features that tend to rely on very old fashioned HTML and table structures, very frustrating ....

Just got it finished today. My programmer went through about 6 different methods until we realized the best overall approach would be to simply strip the tables from boxes.tpl.php and create a new one using only divs.

My issue was all my osCommerce templates I did for the template house all pretty much were stuck with the standard ole three column table wrapper that just about every other template has. I really had to dispose of that simply because I wanted an all CSS variable column layout.

So I created a master foundation for all my new new CRE templates which are all CSS and all the navigation is CSS including my brand spanking new all CSS cascading categories menu and my brand spanking new all CSS manufacturers menu among the three others we just wrapped up.

The menu's were designed to give the effect of the tigra and js-cool menu yet be search engine friendly. I've been able to cut the average size of a CRE Loaded template down to 1/3 of its average production release size from previous templates I've designed.

CRE and all flavors of osCommerce are NOTORIOUSLY heavy on the code with some nested tables going as deep as 7 levels for no apparent reason. 7 levels of nested tables is a spank of wasted space. So I cleaned that up as well.

I'll share this CSS boxes.tpl.php as soon as I package it up with some notes for you. I'd love if someone would be willing to share with me on the "STAR PRODUCTS" contribution in CRE? has anyone done it and could they share?

Hey Jared, I am currently working on an all CSS template for CRE too. Are you converting all of the "content" template files as well? I assume you are. My conversion is going well, but I am having problems with a horizontal css drop-down menu for the product categories. I am nesting it into my header, but it's not displaying properly.

I am very interested in seeing how you are designing the boxes.tpl.php file and the files that control the product listing (column and regular).

What is the "star products" contribution? I don't know that one.

Any chance you will publish this? Would be so good for the SEO.

Thanks

Nick
